In the second article of our series on AI, together with my Senior, John F. Kanyemibwa we delve further into the question: Can AI step into the shoes of an arbitrator? We set out how AI has been applied within International Commercial Arbitration (ICA). First, through documentation review designed programs. Second, in the transcription of arbitration proceedings. Third, the article explores whether a robot/AI can perform the role of an arbitrator and other complimentary roles that AI may play in assisting counsel. Furthermore, the article outlines the justifications for the incorporation of AI in arbitration but also pre-empts the limitations and challenges related to AI, which shall be dealt with in the third and final article in the series. #AI #tech #artificialintelligence #arbitration
